pull column values from a board without requiring the selection of individual items each time.
What are you trying to achieve
We use WorkDoc template for individual item column in board to summarise an item activity.
We would like to be able to use the ‘Dynamic values’ feature to choose a column item of a board but not a specific item.
For me this seems to have been designed to select a specific item from a board witch is not very usefull if we create wordoc template for a specific column in a board.
Because the feature, asks to select board (fine), to select item (not fine) then to select a column (fine), this is not meant to be generic.
We would like to be able to select board and column only so that automatically when we use the template for a board column it will use the information of the column of this board for the current item.
This will reduce the time spend when creating the workdoc on an item column to add dynamic values for each item and delegate it to the template
You can do this! If you create a Docs column (not a file column- I’ve made that mistake before) and create a new Doc template (pic attached). You can then create your template and insert item values (pic 2 attached).

But here I want to do it in the template not in the doc generated using the template
The aim here is to prepare a template for a workDoc, define board where this workdoc will be used and choose column items of this board to avoid add dynamic values everytime we create a document for an item.
Here is what example screenshot send to the support and reply was that it was not yet in the roadmap.
Feature not useable in template: asks you to select a board (fine) than an item (not fine) then a column (fine). If we want to be generic we would need to select only board and column.
