I have a salesperson that asked if there was a way to show her all of her Leads on a map. She would like to see this as she travels to certain areas. Would help her identify leads close by that she could visit.
Is this possible?
Thanks!
Chris

Hello @gdwindowpane
Hi Chris
Yes this is possible in monday.com and it works well for sales travel planning.
If your Leads board has address data you can use a Location column or address fields and then add a Map View to the board. This will plot all leads visually on a map so your salesperson can zoom into areas she is traveling to and quickly see nearby leads she could visit.
A few helpful notes
The map is interactive so clicking a pin opens the lead item
It works best when addresses are clean and standardized
If she only wants to see her own leads she can filter the board by Owner before viewing the map
This is a native monday.com feature and does not require any third party tools.

Thanks so much for the reply!
Quick question, right now our addresses are separated in columns by address, city, state and zip. Do I need to concatenate them into one location column?
Thanks again!
Chris
@gdwindowpane You don’t need to manually concatenate the fields. Map View can use separate address, city, state, and zip columns as long as they’re clean and consistent.
That said, for best accuracy, using a single Location column with the full address is recommended. If pins don’t appear correctly, switching to a Location column usually fixes it.
When I try and add/edit the Map View the only column I see available to choose is Location. I can manually copy and paste the address fields into the Location field but would be nice if there was a way to set up automation to do this. I do have it set up so that anytime a new lead is created, the Location column gets populated.
Thanks for your help!
Chris
I really like Map view but I can’t populate the Location column unless I do it manually. I can export the board to Excel and concatenate the address, city and state columns but I can’t figure out how to import it back into Monday and only update the Location column. When I go into Settings on the Map view the only column I see available for selection is the Location column. If I could have it look at the address, city and state columns and map from there that would work as well.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Chris
Hello @gdwindowpane That’s expected behavior. monday’s Map view can only read from a single Location column and can’t combine address, city, and state from separate columns.
Instead of manual entry, you can auto fill the Location column. A simple Zapier setup is
Trigger on New or Updated Item in monday.com
Use Formatter by Zapier Utilities to combine address, city, and state
Update the item and write that value into the Location column
Once the Location column has a valid address string, Map view will pick it up automatically. Imports from Excel are limited for updating just one column, so automations or Zapier are the better option here.
