Hi,
I’ve noticed that recently in Monday CRM, the “Write an update” button next to each item has been replaced with a button that opens the item’s details panel. However, in Monday Work Management, the “Write an update” button is still present. How can I restore the “Write an update” button in Monday CRM as well?
Hello @robcrac
This is expected behavior. In monday CRM, the inline “Write an update” button was intentionally replaced by the item details panel, and there’s currently no setting to bring that button back. Updates are now added from inside the item view.
monday Work Management still shows the old button because UI changes don’t always roll out the same way across products.
Best workaround for now is to click the item and post updates from the Updates section in the item panel. If this impacts your workflow, it’s worth submitting a feature request.

Thank you for the answer @drtanvisachar . It’s not a big deal, but some of my colleagues found it useful to see the number of updates that appeared next to the “write an update” button.
That’s a fair point the update count was useful for quick visibility.
At the moment, monday CRM doesn’t show that indicator in the item view, and updates can only be checked from inside the item. If this is valuable for your team, I’d recommend submitting it as a feature request so the product team can review it.
