I have a workflow challenge that I need help with regarding automatically filling a date column and setting reminders.
Use Case:
- I have a pre-filled date column that serves as the starting reference.
- A number column where I input the number of weeks.
- I need to subtract the specified number of weeks from the pre-filled date and store the resulting date in another date column.
- However, if I use a formula column to calculate this date, I won’t be able to set due date reminders, since formula-generated values cannot trigger notifications or automations.
Challenges:
🔹 Formula Column Limitation: Since formula-generated dates are dynamic and not considered “real” date values, they cannot be used for reminders or automations.
🔹 Automating Date Population: I need a way to automatically populate an actual date column rather than just displaying it in a formula column.
🔹 Setting Due Date Reminders: The goal is to ensure reminders and automations can be triggered based on this calculated date.
