How do you stop a Parent item being moved to Done before subitems are finished?

Hi all, quick question from someone running into real friction using subitems. We need parent items to only advance when a certain number (or percent) of subitems are Done, but users often move the parent manually and break workflows. Native automations (and “When all subitems are Done”) don’t cover staged gates reliably for our use cases.
