Item-view-widgets of 'connect boards' makes it easy to add items to other boards

In our environment we’re very restrictive on new items being created in the boards. Therefore the ‘item-creation-form’ is perfect for out needs.
However, in the item-view you can add in the widget ‘Connect boards’ and through this widgets the user can easily add items to other boards without restriction. This makes is very easy to clutter the environment en defeats the point of the ‘Item-creation-form’.
Is there a way to restrict adding a new item on another board through this widget in the item-view?
