Lookup up of concatenated value in another board

Hi, I have a board that has an item field labelled “abc”. In another board I have multiple references to abc with suffixes to isolate certain flavours of abc. I would like to look up the date value stored in abc-def. I would prefer a lookup function that allows me to do something like (lookup({abc}&”-def”,[Item name],[date field]) and returns the specific value.
