I have been trying to get them to address making emails reportable just as activities are and I received this rationale:
“I’d also like to provide a bit more context on why emails aren’t currently considered activities in the CRM. Within the CRM platform, there are two types of objects: internal and external.
Internal objects include things like emails and notes. These are considered internal records within the CRM and are mainly used for tracking communication or information that users with the appropriate permissions can view within the system.
On the other hand, activities, such as calls, summaries, meetings, and similar actions, are considered external activities, which represent interactions or actions taken with the contact. Because emails fall under internal objects, they are tracked in the CRM but aren’t automatically categorized as activities in the activity timeline the same way calls or summaries are.”
Does this make sense to anyone? Why can’t they just include Emails as activities or give an option to, at least?
