It would be perfect to have an widget for the attachment column, just like there is a widget for text columns for an item record. The current UI for attachment column is quite small and not user friendly. Due to which many times we have to rely on the Files Gallery for file previews with the filenames.
Not that Files Gallery is not sufficient, but the problem with Files Gallery is that it has only one way sync to the attachment column(s). The files uploaded to the attachment column(s) show the file in the Files gallery, but if we upload a file directly in the Files Gallery then it doesn't show up in the attachment column. Because of this versioning is not possible and also if we want to link an attachment column to some other board, a lot of the files that have been uploaded to the respective parent record's File Gallery don't show up in the linked column.
This causes a lot of confusion, having too many windows to upload the attachments but not unified or synced with each other. Therefore a widget that shows the attachment column like the Files Gallery would be very helpful.
