Sync linked items that live on multiple boards

We’d love the ability for items existing on more than one board to stay linked and automatically sync updates between boards.

Why this would help

We use two boards for different purposes:

Planning Board = higher-level / long-term planning

Execution Board = more detailed day-to-day task management

Only some planning items need to move into the execution board, so we use an automation to create them when they’re ready to be worked on.

The issue

The automation creates a copy of the task, but the two items are not connected afterward. That means every change has to be updated manually in both places.

Example

An item is moved from the planning board to the execution board. Later, the owner, due date, or status changes. We then need to update the item on both boards separately, which creates duplicate work and increases the risk of outdated information.

What would solve it

A way for automated item copies to remain linked, with synced updates between selected columns or the full item, would make cross-board workflows much more effective.
