Automation that when one or more specific countries are selected that the Business region column is updated

Hello,

I was directed here to submit this feature request. I have seen some similar ones but because of column type it doesn’t exist because of limitation on country column.

So when I select a country in the country column it would automatically update the business region in the business region column

For example, If I select US or Canada in the “country” column then the column called “business region” will automictically update to NA (North America) but If I select a country that is UK or Germany, or Egypt then it should automatically select EMEA for business region, and if I select Brazil or Chile it will automatically change business region to “LATAM”, or if I select Republic or Korea, China, or Japan it will automatically update business region to “APAC”.

This is used on a more simplified view of sales overall in a region rather than looking country-by-country as some countries might buy less or more and may cause you to not fully see which regions might overall be performing better. Say you get a lot of sales from Japan so you might feel Asian is huge market but when you look buy region, you have far more EMEA sales than APAC sales. Here is a list of locations:

Additionally, not only would this be used for just countries but in general for other uses like depending on a company’s business/employee size and annual revenue reported publicly about the company might also be an factor into an automation to select whether they’re an independent, small, medium, large business.

So far, from what the AI chat and team member report, this feature does not currently exist. And the work arounds by the AI have yielded no success other than to suggest to make an automation for every country one-by-one which is way too many automations.

So sorry to get back to you late but yet this is exactly what I’m looking for. Only issue I’m having though is when I try to insert this I get nothing but an “!” and saying “illegal formula”. I I break it down to a smaller list it works but the whole thing it just breaks with no further information on why it broke.
