Automation to change a whole column at once or all items of a certain status

the idea is instead of selecting the box in the upper left of a group and changing a whole column at once (ie status, date, etc) that an automation be created that “when the status changes to something, an entire column changes to something”. Or "when a status changes to something, all items with the status “something” changes to “something”. this way it would save you from selecting the whole group or certain items in that that column.
