Automation template that follows: “When a subitem is created in this board, connect the subitem where this column matches this column in another board by this logic”.
Would love to be able to automatically connect subitems that match (currently can do so with items, but not subitems).

Great request — this is another area where native automations are still pretty limited when it comes to subitems.
We actually built an app called Connected Boards Automations that already supports this behavior. With it, you can trigger automations when an item or subitem is created, automatically connect it to items or subitems on another board using a Connect Boards column, and do so based on matching column values.
The app can also sync all future changes between the connected items/subitems, as long as the column name and type match — so everything stays aligned without ongoing manual work.
