I did some searching on this but have come up blank.
When creating a New Item in My Work, the first field is Board. It appears that the only way to select a Board, is to scroll down an unordered list of boards I’m assigned to.
I expected such a list to be able to scroll based on keyboard input or a full search.
I’ve tried Firefox and Chrome.
We have only a dozen Boards at this point, more and it would be unreasonable to scroll rather than search.
When adding a new item in the “My Work” section of monday.com, the “Board” field currently displays a scrollable list of boards you’re assigned to, without a search or filter function. This can become cumbersome as the number of boards increases.
As of now, monday.com does not offer a built-in feature to search or filter boards within this list. This limitation has been noted by other users in the monday.com community.
A potential workaround involves enabling the “Form for item creation” setting on your boards. This setting allows you to create items via a form, which can be accessed from the “New Item” dropdown in the “My Work” section. While this doesn’t add a search function to the board selection list, it provides an alternative method for item creation that might be more manageable.
Navigate to the board where you want to enable the form.
Click on the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the board.
Select “Board settings.”
Toggle on the “Enable form for item creation” option.
After enabling this setting, when you click on the “New Item” button in “My Work,” you’ll have the option to select “New Item via Form,” allowing for a more streamlined item creation process.
For a more permanent solution, you might consider submitting a feature request to monday.com, suggesting the addition of a search or filter function in the board selection list. This would enhance usability, especially for users managing numerous boards.
