Hi, I have recently started using the
Portfolio solution in the enterprise plan. We have automations that trigger boards from various templates and then we add those projects to the Portfolio board.
We are facing an issue wherein i am not able to add the projects to the Portfolio since it’s showing an error.
Please suggest the possible causes why it’s happening and how to fix it? permissions? do i need to be a board owner? added to templates? how do i fix it?
I had a similar problem when we first started using the portfolio board. If you can share the error you’re getting I can look back and see if it was the same issue.
We have found that a board cannot be added to more than one portfolio. This is specific to the portfolio solution portfolios. Dashboards or regular boards that we effectively used as portfolios in the past can be connected to boards that are connected to other portfolios, just not the new portfolios provided by the portfolio solution.
We don’t get an error when connecting them, though. Instead the board gets connected successfully but is automatically removed from the other portfolio it may be connected to.
For this reason my org has not begun using the portfolio solution. We are unable to have a PMO or company-wide portfolio showing all projects in flight, and also have those same project boards connected to a department portfolio (for example, all IT projects or all Finance projects), or to a portfolio that provides a high-level view of a large project containing multiple boards. It’s annoying.
