View items by column attribute

Hi. Sorry if this is a stupid question. I’ve looked for an answer but can’t find one.

Is there a way to view pulses by their column attribute? For example, if I have a list of companies with a column for “target market” - am I able to create a view or board that lists target markets and shows which companies have this attribute? I’m guessing this is what Pivot Board is for?

Thanks
Tom

Hey @TomatRECItalia,

Sounds like you’re trying filter out your board a bit. I think I can help!

Here’s one way you could go about this :

Create a new board view, selecting table

and filtering that table "Where Target Market is ____ " depending on what you want to see.

You could then change the filter for each time you’re trying to look at a new market

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help with!

Thanks Chris. That will work in this case.

But we have the same situation with other fields. For example we have four boards - opportunities, companies, target markets and contacts.

When I create a new opportunity, I link a contact, which will have a company and target market mirrored. I would like to then go into the contacts board and see which contacts have which leads linked. Or do the same with target markets. I’m guessing this isn’t possible? At least without manually linking everything in all directions?

Hey @TomatRECItalia, Glad I could help!

Sorry I missed your response. Now while what your trying to accomplish through monday.com doesn’t directly exist, I think there may be a work around through the use of statuses. We do something very similar at CarbonWeb in our Internal Projects board.

What we have on this board is a few mirrored columns and a few connected boards columns.

Mirrored Columns

Connected Board Columns

We set up a status and automation for each connected board so that when a status is flipped in that board, such as +Dev it creates an item in our Dev Projects board and connects it the column in our Internal Proj board.

For you to make something similar may take a bit of reworking your current set up through adding new statuses and automations, but I definitely think its achievable.

Always happy to help, let me know if I can do anything else for you!

Hi Chris.

Thank you again for your response.

I went back and looked at the mirroring and saw that I could achieve what I needed from 2-way mirroring. This is my noob mistake. I should have set it properly in the first place.

Thanks for your time, I really appreciate it!

Thanks
Tom

Hi @Chrism99

Your example here looks very interesting. Can you please tell me what settings you’ve used within your automation? Just to give a little more context for the settings. I think this will really help my use case.

Thank you!
