It does not appear to be working when I activate my board footer.

Have you tried loading in an incognito window & turning the monday.labs feature on and off in that window?
If that doesn’t do the trick, can you try adding a regular Number Column (not a mirrored Number Column or Formula Column) to the board and see if the sum shows up there?
It could be an issue with multi-level mirroring. To rule this out, adding a regular Status or Number Column and filling out the cells within that column will help see if the footer gets populated too or not.
