Adding Files to Groups as a Whole Instead of Individual Tasks/ Items

Attach general files to a board

Hey @Sbi - in these cases we normally designate the top group of the board and a single item for the storage of project/board level files. Another way to look at it could be to create an Overview Board, which is basically a one-liner per project that has all the high-level details of the project. This is a good location to store related files. You could then also mirror back tasks status to the overview board for a have an easy sense of all project health. Hope this helps, Mark

Adding Documents to a Group

It would be really awesome if a feature could be created so that we are able to add document(s) (or links) to a group as a whole instead of creating a separate item line inside the group to add the file/link. Not only would it look cleaner, but it has a lot of potential with automations I think!

Since it is now 2025, I would like to re-request Monday.com to add the ability to upload documents to groups as a whole instead of individual items/ tasks. We need our email templates to be able to access files and we want to have so AI stuff setup for files. However, it’s inefficient to have to add the file to every single item/ task in the group manually.

Hi there!

We also need that kind of functionality. We would like to be able to store files at these 4 levels :

1. Task
2. Board / Project
3. Portfolio
4. Workspace

That would make more sense than use workaround methods that doesn’t suit every cases.
