Allow Automation Failure Notifications to be Sent by Email (Configurable Notification Type)

Currently, Monday.com does not allow enabling email notifications for automation failures. The option is disabled and cannot be checked (see screenshot).

This is a serious issue:
When an automation fails, the notification only appears in the notification panel. As soon as you open it, it is marked as read and disappears. This means if you don’t manually copy the message and create a task before opening, it’s lost. In busy environments, it’s very easy to miss or forget critical errors.

Why is this important?

  • Automation errors need to be followed up—they can’t be treated like simple alerts.
  • Email notifications would allow proper tracking and follow-up using email tools (e.g. starring, creating tasks, etc.).
  • Other notification types already allow this, but automation failures do not.

Suggestion:
Please allow users to enable email notifications for automation issues, the same way as other notifications.

This should be an easy fix for Monday’s team, but the benefit for users would be huge. Automation failures sometimes happen unexpectedly, even on workflows that always worked before, often due to changes in the system. Without proper email alerts, these failures can go completely unnoticed.
