Allow Calendar to show additional information from Item columns

In the calendar view currently you can only view the “Item”. It would be very helpful if it was possible to select an additional column information to display on the calendar as well. For example “Item Name” & “Contact Name”. In this way, when in calendar view it has a better cross team flow as various teams can use different references (eg Sales Order number & Customer Name), without having to look up references on the fly.

For Microsoft Lists, you can create a list with a calendar view and add columns for the required information. You can then create a new view, choose ‘calendar’ as the option to show as, and set the start and end dates to the ‘date’ column. If these options don’t meet your needs, you may need to look into custom solutions that involve scripting or third-party tools. This could include using Apps Script with Google Sheets to sync data to a calendar or inserting a calendar in Excel and linking it to your data.

Hi, we just launched MasterPlan Calendar!

It allows you to display your items as events, similar to Google Calendar, with start and end times. You can also display several columns like people, location, links, text, and numbers. Additionally, it lets you connect multiple boards in a dashboard widget view.

Hi Hamish, hope you were able to find a solution. If you want you can take a look at Calendar Plus. It’s mostly free, but its Pro plan allows you to display extra pieces of information on items and subitems in week view. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have questions or ideas.

Best I can tell, neither MasterPlan Calendar or Calendar Plus allow for embedding. Is that accurate?

Calendar Plus currently has calendar sharing and embedding available in early access. Send me a message if you’re interested and I can add you to the early access programme. Customers are already using it successfully, just some kinks with larger boards.
