Automation – Sub-element Date vs Element

Description

When a sub-item contains a date, would it be possible to display that date directly in a column of the parent item? (Not using a mirror column that only shows the first or last date among all sub-items)

What are you trying to achieve

I would like to see in a column of my items a specific date that is included in one of my sub-items. But there’s no automation linking the two, so for now I have to manually copy the date.

What is your trigger? Is it when subitem is created or when subitem date changes? Is there a different trigger?

Unfortunately, there is no automations or custom_automations that allow you to change a date to whatever you want. Same with changing a column value.

HOWEVER, if you have workflows, you can easily do it as such (the example is when subitem date changes):
