Basecamp to Monday.com migration

Hello,

I’ve been trying to transfer Basecamp to-dos (both archived and current) into Monday.com, but I’m facing several challenges that I haven’t been able to resolve.

Current Setup:

I’ve attempted to use the standard Basecamp integration in Monday.com, but it has not been successful in pulling across everything I need. Additionally, I haven’t used Zapier yet because I’m struggling to make sense of how to configure it properly.

Here are the specific challenges I’m facing:

  1. Archived To-Dos: The standard Basecamp integration doesn’t pull in archived to-dos. Is there a way to automate this process without manually unarchiving each to-do?
  2. File Attachments: The to-dos are being transferred, but their attachments (files) are not coming across. I need a solution that ensures all attachments are transferred with the tasks.
  3. Comments as Updates: Comments on Basecamp to-dos are not being transferred as updates in Monday.com. I would like these to appear as updates so the communication history is preserved.

Request for Assistance:

Could you please advise on the following:

  • Can Zapier or another method be configured to transfer both archived and current to-dos from Basecamp, including attachments and comments (as updates) into Monday.com? If so, could you guide me through the process?
  • Are there any native integrations or apps within Monday.com that can handle this smoothly?
  • If neither of the above is possible, are there third-party integrations that could meet these needs?

The primary goal is to transfer all to-dos (archived and current), along with their attachments and comments, into Monday.com with minimal manual effort.

Thank you for your help!

Hi, you would need a custom API integration to ensure everything is migrated seamlessly, as standard integrations and tools like Zapier alone won’t fully capture archived tasks or attachments. You would need an API specialist to set it up for you, but alternatively, I can help you manually transition your data from Basecamp to Monday com, so you don’t have to handle it yourself. Let me know which option works best for you!

Hey @abngroup-mark

I’ve got you covered. We can create a custom workflow to seamlessly transfer both archived and active Basecamp to-dos into Monday.com, ensuring all attachments and comments come along. Here’s my plan:

Use Make.com (or Zapier with customization) to pull data from Basecamp, including archived to-dos. I’ll leverage Basecamp’s API to bypass the native integration’s limitations.

For attachments we’ll retrieve and map the files through automation so they sync properly with Monday tasks.
Comments will be imported as updates using Monday.com’s API to preserve the communication history.
