Chart to Show Employee Attendance

Hi, we are hosting workshops specific to our work. We have a list of employees we expect to attend. We want to keep track of attendance for each weekly workshop session and be able to see a chart that shows trends (those who are missing the workshops specifically). Is there a way to set this up as a chart? Right now, I have a list of the employees as a subitem under each workshop session, with a column to click whether or not they were present or absent. And if there is a way to see how many times, for example, Jane Doe was absent, that would be super helpful!
