We have a Leads board with a Leads group. The end goal is here is to evenly split leads between two sales/estimators. Some of the leads come into the Leads group via forms automatically but the sales people can add a lead that comes in another way (phone, email, walk-in, tradeshow, etc). I had thought about using an autoID (or counter of somesort) then using a formula to determine if the number is odd or even to assign the lead to one or the other salesperson. BUT because leads can get added other ways, this won’t keep the split between the two people even and fair.
So my next thought is to create two duplicates of the Leads group. One for each of the sales people. This way they can add any leads they get from sources other than the forms to their own Leads group. This would allow me to use the original Leads board in the way I originally thought - with some form of automated counter and moving items with the odd number into one and even numbers into the other.
Am I over thinking this or missing some form of functionality that would make this process easier? Your help would be most appreciated.
Hi Desiree, yes we have the Pro level with a CRM. I actually resolved this yesterday. It was much easier to do. For anyone else that’s wondering, here’s what I did with the help of Monday support:
I created a new Status column and created two labels (Form, Manual)
Then I created 4 automations (one for each of the forms that feed Monday automatically). When a new lead comes in from a form, the Status column is set to Form. All other new items will be set to Manual.
Then I created a new team and put the two sales people in this team.
When this status column is changed, it triggers another automation that uses the Round Robin integration to assign an owner from the new team I created.
Simple, clean, and seems to be working as expected.
