Fit more updates on screen at once

Description

The current Updates section in Monday.com Work Management has excessive vertical spacing due to large Reply text boxes and unnecessary padding, limiting visibility to approximately three single-line updates at a time. To enhance the user experience and streamline the interface, I propose the following UI improvements:

  1. Relocate the Views icon (eyeball) to the Like/Reply toolbar to eliminate the dedicated horizontal row currently occupied by this single icon.
  2. Hide Reply text boxes by default, displaying them only when a user clicks the Reply button.
  3. Hide the horizontal row currently displayed beneath replies: the Views icon, Like button, and Reply button can be hidden and appear when the user hovers over the reply. (Think MS Teams and other similar IM platforms).

What are you trying to achieve

The goal is to enable more efficient review of updates with minimal scrolling and reduced visual clutter. The most critical elements for users when viewing updates are:

  1. The name of the user who posted the update.
  2. The date and time of the update.
  3. The content of the update itself.

By prioritizing these elements and concealing secondary features (e.g., Reply boxes, Views icon, Like button) behind toolbar actions or mouse hovers, the Updates section can become more compact and user-friendly, improving productivity and focus.
