Hi, can we grant Viewer access to a user in one workspace and Member access to the same user in another workspace? I am aware that just platform level role is given to a user but is there any workaround? Thank you!

Hello Allen,

As a general rule, every member has “view” access to all the open workspaces within the account. Meaning all members can view and access workspaces in the organization.

There are three different roles in terms of Workspace permissions and you can set up what each role can do within the workspace:

1. Workspace owner
The person who created the Workspace, or was “crowned” as an owner by another Workspace owner. A Workspace owner will appear under the “members” tab with a blue crown next to their name.

2. Workspace member
A person who was invited to join a Workspace. A Workspace member will appear under the “members” tab with a grey crown next to their name.

3. Workspace non-member
A person that was invited to a Board or Workdoc inside the Workspace, but has not been invited to the Workspace itself. A Workspace non-member will have partial access to the Workspace, but is not considered a full Workspace member and their name will not be displayed under the “members” tab.

Within the Permissions tab, Workspace owners can then choose to restrict what the different roles can do within the Workspace.

For a view-only permission, you can deactivate all the permissions for the non-member role. That way you’ll make sure that non-member won’t be able to create, edit or delete items, boards, and dasboards in the workspace.
