Hi there - someone in my team is also interested in this feature. Are there any updates on it?
I support this request.
Indeed, with the organization I have defined between my teams, each have there own board, and in addition, there is one common. I have defined several automates to move entries from the main board (the common one) to the team board depending on statuses…
I really miss the history log once the items have been moved: some important information are lost.
So please, either add a new automate to generate a file attached in an update of the entry with the copy of the history log, or better, just keep this history log within the entry, even after it has been moved.
I would also love to see this feature. Our team has to “archive” items to a seperate board at the end of the month and we will lose details regarding automations and other actions.
OR
Is there widget that can maintain that information?
It would be great to have it. We move items between 7 broads in production process.
It is posibble to save it using webhook intregation and saving logs through board logs activity:
{
boards(ids: [457232545]) {
id
items(ids: 3491190462) {
state
id
column_values(ids: "date") {
text
title
}
}
activity_logs(item_ids: 3491190462) {
entity
data
}
}
}
Our company would love to have this feature built in. We move tasks from board to board every day. All of the notes are moved along with the task, but we also need the activity history to move. It would be nice to have this built in without any custom/manual webhook or API integrations. Maybe make it an option for a company to choose? Not having the activity history has been difficult to go back and follow-up on a task later when we need to know when a status changed or other changes were made and who made the changes.
I am too encountering this problem. Even the updates are lost when moving items between boards. Not good from the audit/traceability/accountability point of views.
We need this feature, too. The item is the same one, even when moved between boards, so activity log should be connected to the item, no matter in which board it is located in the moment.
This is a really big problem for me as well. I have processes subject to audit and I lose all history when moving items between boards. My workflows require movement between boards in order to manage access and authority. I can’t say that in status “A” these specific users can modify data but when status changes to “B” then only a different set of users can modify data on the board or within a column. My only partial solution is to run an automation before the item is moved to the next board that writes an update to the item. Within the update I have to attempt to log all of the data for that item, who approved or changed the status on the item, etc. and then let the automation move it to the next board. There are very few features I would rank higher than this one.
Chiming in on this. It’s hugely annoying that activity from the previous board disappears from the log on the current board—if I move the item back, the old activity reappears, so the data is still there. Why does it need to disappear? Please fix it.
We definitely could use the history in the activity log when moving items from one board to another. This seems like a function that should already be implemented.
We have the same issue, since monday is now limiting the numer of linked connect item to 10k per board I need to create a new board and move a huge sum of items to this board and losing a lot of needed information on the activity log
Add us to the list of companies that have a huge issue with losing the activity log! We lost a ton of historical data when we had to move items to new boards and it’s come up several times when management has asked when certain statuses changed and all of that activity data is now lost.
Overall this feature is something that should be really considered because for many companies like my own this is a track record/easy audit when clients or internally we have questions about our process.
Any chance there is an update coming from Monday.com on this issue, it’s a massive waste of time, to go back to the Leads board to find activity history once a lead is moved to the quotes board for us!
Anything to tell us Monday.com?
For any company using SOC audits this is a huge deal. We need the history of an item to stay with that item no matter what boards it gets moved to. It is surprising to me that this isn’t just standard function in the product.
