How to stop auto emails after a specific number sent over a course of time

Does anyone have an automation formula that stops sending automated emails after a certain number are sent over a period of time? I do not want to have to change the status to stop an automation. EXAMPLE: I want to send the same email three (3) times, one every 24 hours. Once the email was sent three times over 72 hours the automation would stop.

It may take a little setting up but I would incorporate the use of a number column (and maybe a status column) that would stay hidden in the background but you can use automations to have it count each time the automated email is sent, and when it gets to 3, you can change your status and stop sending them.

Peta, thanks for the input. It would seem I would need a number column for every type of automated email. Correct? I have four automated emails that have a cap on the number being sent.
