Looking for a volunteer to help a food poverty non-profit

Hi there, I thought it was worth asking here because here is where all the Monday experts are! I have tried advertising elsewhere but I guess Monday skills are pretty specialist and so we haven’t found anyone :frowning:

Bags of Taste is the leading food skills educator in the UK. We work with highly vulnerable people with mental and physical health challenges, poverty, and other difficult life circumstances to improve what they eat and their finances. We’re incredibly effective and after our 2-week programme people have less reliance on food banks, their health is improving, and they’ve more money in their pockets.

Ken is a recovering alcoholic who did our programme and it has helped keep him away from takeaways and convenience shops where he might be tempted to buy alcohol. Lisa, a single parent with chronic depression, did our programme along with her kids and now they’re no longer eating just pizza, chicken nuggets and chips, but making their own pasta sauces and experimenting with new foods.

We work with 2,500 people like Ken and Lisa every year and are set to grow - which is why we had to migrate off google sheets and onto Monday to track our participants and keep them safe.

We have been migrating our beneficiary tracking systems to Monday and developing our new system, we’re basically rolling out the system now but there are a still a few challenging bugs that we could do with help with from a specialist.

We have some extra bells and whistles we’d like on the system, which could be a small project for someone.

We also need some very low level, long term support - someone to call when we don’t know how to do something, or that can make small changes like if we have a new data collection field.

Have you tried contacting our support team already? We have a really big team of experts available 24/7, so if you haven’t yet, I really recommend reaching out to them through the in-app chat and consulting them about everything you need help with.

Other than that, I can also recommend trying out the AI tools around the platform that help build boards and workflows, like monday vibe, monday magic, the Sidekick…

Hi Tom, thank you for this, I do believe my IT volunteer has been in touch with the support team and they’ve been helpful, but I think what we need is a bit beyond a general support team and more specific :slight_smile: . We tried a paid-for service and found they simply didn’t care about a little organisation like us, we were always an afterthought as we will never be a huge client. :frowning: Thank you though.
