Manage the test cycle and bugs

for my project work as a project manager i would like to know , how we can effectively use monday.com for my SIT/UAT testing there. Currently i am only using the monday.com for project plan and development status track purpose only. but i am not seeing any option to manage the test cycle, where QA/Users can raise bugs and effectively fix it by developer and send it for retest and all process. Please help. Does Monday.com has the capability or we need to integrate with third party? If its third party, which one will be better and seamlessly work with monday.com. Its bit urgent.

Hi Bhabani,

Monday.com actually has a platform called Monday Services, which is designed specifically for workflows like yours, including managing test cycles and bug tracking. With the right board setup and automations, you can manage the entire SIT/UAT process directly within Monday.com without needing a third-party integration.

Here’s an example of how you could structure it:

  • Board for Test Cycles: Use items to represent test cases, with columns to track the status (e.g., “Pending,” “In Progress,” “Failed,” “Passed”).
  • Bug Tracking Board: Use a separate board where QA/Users can log bugs. You can connect this to the test cycle board using Connect Board columns.
  • Automations: Automations can notify developers when a bug is logged, change statuses, and send updates to testers when the bug is fixed.
  • View Options: Use dashboards to visualize the progress of your SIT/UAT, including open bugs and resolved issues.

That said, many teams also use third-party tools that integrate seamlessly with Monday.com, such as Jira, GitHub, or Azure DevOps, for managing testing and development workflows. These tools are commonly used by others for their extensive capabilities in bug tracking and development cycle management.

However, I’d recommend checking out Monday Services first, as it’s built to support workflows like yours natively.
