We are getting more and more requests from Monday.com sales engineers for trial extensions and promo codes. Given that the Marketplace Listings terms provide Monday.com with a free license for all our apps, perhaps it would be a good time for Monday.com to actually implement the ability to exercise this right.
+1 on this. Definitely needed.
Currently we have published a “Demo” plan at 1,000 USD/month on the Marketplace.
Partners can contact us to get a 100% discount.
It get’s even worse: we actually had a pre-sales engineer who then asked us if we could work around the fact that they had to provide a creditcard (after I sent them the 100% discount code). It is becoming ridiculous.
Fortunately were not in monday code so we have a database we can really use outside the context of the app itself, so could add code for checking for a subscription override record. If that exists, then its used rather than one from the JWT.
But we’re integration only - so we don’t need to deal with the UI subscription warning.
I’d suggest creating this as an official feature request or editing the initial post to put it in the monday Apps & Developers - Feature Requests category. Without that I know Dipro can’t take it to the dev teams to implement - and we can’t vote to say we need it.
Just had to tell a partner we can’t give them a full discount (except if they purchase it at $0). We’re no longer doing the override except in exceptional circumstances because it leads to problems with the account when they do actually purchase a plan they want to use, and keeping track of them all.
Monday really needs to give us the tools to meet the obligations they put on us (granting internal monday accounts a full discount (with full features not a limited plan)). Its really quite unfair to put a requirement on developers they cannot reasonably adhere to.
