Prior to the most recent update, when I would get a new notification, I was able to hold down the Control* button on my keyboard as I was clicking on it, and this would open the notification link in a new tab. This was helpful if the notification was on a different board and I wanted to look at it but also not lose my place on the board I currently had open.
But after the update, I lost that ability. Clicking on the notif with the Control button held down did nothing, and I would be brought to the link in that same tab. This was frustrating as I would sometimes be in the middle of something else, and in order to go back to it, I would have to hit the back arrow and lose the new notification page.
However, I could still right-click and choose Open In New Tab, so I made due. But now I can no longer do that.
I need to be able to open the notification link in a new tab. I went onto the Monday live chat, and the representative said that this ability had been taken away and there was no way to get it back by changing my settings. She recommended submitting a ticket here, in the hopes that the ability to open a link in a new tab would be given back to us.
When my work’s team started using Monday, we did so under the impression that it would be user-friendly and efficient. I don’t understand the decision to remove a tool that users rely on in order to manage their work. I hope that Monday will give this back, so that I (and likely others) can continue to use Monday efficiently.
*Note: Control+click opens a link in a new tab on Windows computers; Command+click opens in a new tab for Macs. It would be great if this ability could be given back for all users regardless of their computer types.
