Project Management - Simple Project

Hi.

I’m struggling a bit with the Simple Project template:

  1. In the main table I create Task A.
  2. I set a timeline of 1 day. e.g 14/03
  3. I create a second Task B. I leave the timeline empty.
  4. Now… I add a Dependency Column and set Task B to depend on Task A.

The start date on Task B must shift automatically to 15/03. That is not the case.

Could you please assist?

Unfortunately, you have to pre-populate dates in the timeline for dependent items before the rules kick-in e.g. 15/03 for Task B

These are super basic functions in MS-Project. Disappointing.

What worked for me was setting the dates manually for the second task first, just like someone else mentioned.
