I have a list of folders that I want to put in a particular order; however, when I grab one and drag it, it expands every.single.folder along the way. It would be great if that did not happen. I just sat here trying to move one folder maybe 5 times, and every time, it auto-expands all the folders, then I get an error that says you can’t put another folder inside that folder, because these folders are already inside a folder. I’m also not trying to put it inside the other folder, I’m only trying to move it.
I would love to know how to prevent this. Its super annoying.
I totally get this frustration — it’s the same for me when I’m just trying to reorder things quickly. The auto-expand makes what should be a 2-second drag-and-drop take way too long, and half the time I end up with that “can’t put a folder inside another” error too. Having an option to disable auto-expand while moving folders would make the whole process so much smoother.
It’s maddening to try to rearrange anything at the moment. The instantaneous expansion of folders makes it impossible to drop any item where you want. The worst is when you end up dropping an item inside a random subfolder by accident and then need to find it and repeat the cycle…! A 1 to 2 second hover before triggering the auto-expansion is the typical expected behaviour so I hope it’s implemented soon.
