You need to use the “status column” field type not “column” field type. Then when you create your recipe, you pick the status column field in the dependency of the status column value.
However, the custom automation builder does not support dependencies, so it is not possible to create a publishable automation to set a status to a particular value. You have to create an automation template for a single action.
Normally they don’t let you publish action blocks with fields that have dependencies - but that applies to your custom fields mainly. Unfortunately it lets you publish non-working status change actions for use in the custom automation builder that won’t work.
It’s quite unfortunate that is issue has still not been resolved. Because not only can you not set the status values of a status column, you cannot custom create yours because when you create a custom field type with dependencies, the custom recipe option is automatically turned off meaning the workflow can only be used in a single integration. @Matias.Monday can we expect an update on this?
