Tracking Status Change week over week with Progress

Greetings,
I am seeking input or insight on how to track status change of item week over week so that we can report on what’s change, not change etc. In building this out I’ve come up against a few roadblocks. Status can be static and may not change week over week so I am wondering how to incorporate progress along with the week over week. Each week the progress can be updated until it reaches 100% and then it’s done but I somehow need to show the changes week over week.
I am trying to flush this out on a board but not sure how to create all the scenarios into one board. I need to see status change, when it does change but I think the key driver is progress tracking, however the current progress tracking option does not provide the outcome needed. I want the users to go to the progress tracking column and input the progress to show that change. Any suggestions or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hello @eburley_tmhcc ,
If you’re open to apps, With the Board Email Reports app, you can set up a rule to automatically track key status transitions over any reporting period —like when tasks move from In Progress to Done or from To Do to Working on it —and receive a report via email.
Here’s how it works:
From the set of automations recipes, customize the following one:

Every time period, create a report on items from a group where Status was changed from from_Status to to_Status, with direct or all transitions, within the last X days (or weeks), and send this report to specified emails

Status Report

  • Direct transitions: shows only the tasks that moved directly from “In Progress” to “Done” without additional transitions between.
  • All transitions: includes any tasks that moved from “In Progress” to “Done”, even if they passed through other statuses (like “On Hold” or “Review”), offering a broader task journey.

If your team has a specific status project report you compile manually to share with stakeholders, we can create a custom one for you , just reach out to our team.
