Users with Viewer access are unable to see the content of widgets in the update section when an item is expanded

I’ve found that Users with viewer access to monday.com receive an error that says, “Something went wrong: There was an error in response from monday.com graphql API” when trying to view widgets in the Updates Section of items in our workspaces.
It would be nice to allow viewers the ability to “view” items description along with contents of other widgets when the updates section of an item is opened.

Please see below image of the error.

I hope we can get some votes on this request and get it some attention.

We have also experienced this error. We have a workflow notification, and the same error text shows in the notification email. Our workaround is telling users to go to the board and hover over that text column where they can read the text

We seem to experience a similar issue where users with the Viewer type are unable to see the “Text” widget in the Updates Section of items in our workspaces.
After a conversation with Monday support, they confirmed this was intended behavior, with the following note:

A viewer is unable to see the text widget in the update section in the CRM product because viewers do not have access to the public API, which is required to use apps, including the text widget. This restriction causes the error that viewers encounter when trying to access the text widget

When asked if this was currently planned to change, they mentioned that they did not have information about this being changed soon, but they would appreciate it if this idea was shared on the feature requests.

While it might be intended behavior, it was not quite what we expected when we started to use the widget, so I hope this changes in the near future or at least will lead to some kind of warning on this (and other applicable) widgets, so we at least know what to expect.
