I am not a ‘Developer’ i.e., no coding education but have an idea to create a workspace template. Should I learn coding before I start trying to develop an App?
TIA
JaneDoe
Great question, @JaneDoe Just to clarify, are you looking to develop a workspace template within Monday.com, or are you thinking of creating a full-fledged app? These are quite different paths, so understanding what you want to achieve is key!
If your goal is to build a workspace template, coding isn’t necessary. The best first step would be getting really familiar with Monday.com, learning how to structure boards effectively, use automations, and integrate workflows. Have you already built any boards or workflows in Monday? If not, I’d recommend starting there before worrying about development.
Monday.com also offers certifications that can help you master its features and ensure your final template is well-designed. Have you looked into the Monday Core or Advanced Certification? It could be a great way to refine your skills before taking the next step!
If you’re actually looking to develop an app, that’s a whole different story.
Hi Wally
Thank you for responding to my query.
I do have some experience with Monday.com at a workspace level. But thanks for the training suggestion, will do.
However, I do have designs for 2 Apps for the medical field. I am wondering if it would be better for me to partner with a developer on this?
kindly
Catherine
