Seems all right to me, this is ISO-8601 week numbering.
There are different systems to calculate week numbers (rule of four, rule of Thursday, rule of St. Benedict). A good article can be found here:
That makes sense. However, try turning on week numbers in the date widget. Wouldn’t you think they would match?

Sure, I did not get that part. You are using the formula column, right?
Indeed, you would expect the formula column WEEKNUM({Date}) to display the same as the weeknum in the date column. In my book (I am an ISO-8601 adept) the formula column is right and the date column is showing the wrong week number.
I would contact support on this one.
