I was troubleshooting a workflow that just went live for our company this week, and when I was looking at the run details I saw that the final action, “Notify Someone” was marked as “This action doesn’t exist anymore”
I’m using a Workflow to link mirrored columns after a user creates a new item, and one of the limitations of Workflows and Emails is that you can’t send an email direct to a user, you need an email address to send it to. You also cannot send notifications to Mirrored Person columns.
I was using my workflow to copy a mirrored “person” column into a non-mirrored “Person” column, then the “Notify Someone” action to actually notify the Person column.
Was the “Notify Someone” action permanently removed from Workflows? Is it actually completely removed from the product and now I need to look at all of my other automations that use the Notify Someone action?
Is there a different way to take action to notify a person column using a workflow?
5 minutes or so after I submitted this post, the feature was restored and was working again. The “Notify Someone” was no longer red, and I was able to add it as an action again.
This leads me to believe that a support team member saw my post in their “needs approval” thread and fixed something in our account.
I’m still not confident that this feature will not be re-removed again in the future.
Hi JJ! Shannon here with the monday team. Thanks for flagging this with us! The “Notify someone” action block was not removed from the workflow builder feature, so it sounds like you may have run into a glitch on the platform.
Due to our security and privacy policies, the monday Customer Experience team does not have direct access to users’ accounts. In technical escalations, our Technical team can only access accounts to investigate buggy behavior with user/admin consent.
