Add end to start or end to end dependency connections

Add end to start or end to end dependency connections.
In project management the most basic capability for building project timelines is start to end or end to start dependacies.
They’re missing in Monday.

Yes, it would be great to be able to set the dependency type (FS, FF, SF, SS). Furthermore, the ability to add lead or lag time (e.g. Task 2 with a Finish-to-Finish dependency + 2 weeks with task 1, meaning task 2 should finish 2 weeks after task 1 has finished).
This would tremendously improve the current Gantt version & usefulness of dependency column.

Greatly anticipated and urgently needed feature.
Actually, it appears on the Monday Project Management website as if it was available. Do you have an ETA or pipeline for this?

I noticed this as well under the project management section and thought the template would have these features, however, that was not the case…unless I missed something. It looks like monday is advertising for features that don’t exist or are in the works.

@monday-moderators can you advise?

Is ther any update in this issue? or any workaround that somone use to solve end to start dependency?

Meytal

yes i have the same useful question

Your best solution in the interim is to use the “adjust timeline of an item to reflect changes made in the date of its dependent item” automation. This requires you to set your plan up with the necessary relationships e.g. 1 week float and also assumes the relative positions of the planning items is essentially fixed.

Innovation in the project management space has been disappointing to say the least over the last 6 months. Even with the new “product” designation, some of the basics available in other packages aren’t forthcoming.

I’m new to monday.com and am most interested in core PM functionality. I think some of the other comments in this thread are regarding this article.

Yeah I have to say I’m surprised this isn’t existing core functionality. We definitely need the different dependency types AND agree w/ the comment regarding slack. I hope monday.com admins / devs have this in the pipeline.

@Julietteb @Orit, any news regarding this much anticipated feature?

Hey everyone, we’re currently working on dependency types, and will be working on lead/lag in near future as well.
If you want to be granted the beta in the next few months, please submit [this form].

Is there any progress on this issue? Without it, why have dependencies at all?

I agree, I had to completely re-map all task dependencies because this was not an innate built-in feature.

Any update on this? I did signup for the Beta version via the form listed in an above comment. Any timeline on when this will be a basic feature? We are new to Monday and this may be a deal breaker. @Orit
