I’m folowing the instructions in the brief Jira Cloud Integration tutorial, but I cannot link the Link to issue from Jira to the Link to Jira task in Monday as Ross does in the tutorial.

In this screenshot you can see that if I choose Link to issue from Jira then there are very few targets I can choose in Monday, and none of them are what I need:
In this screenshot you can see that if I choose Jira issue as the target in Monday (Ross’s Link to Jira task was not available) then there are no options available as the source in Jira:
What is your column type for the column “Jira issue”?
If it is not “Text” type, can you please try changing the column type to “Text” and then see if it works?
It worked for me when the column type was “text”.
I am encountering this same issue and am hoping to add my voice to the request for a solution.
As someone relatively new to Monday . com, I’ve been trying to configure the Jira integration automation. My goal is to have the automation create a link on our Monday . com board that points directly back to the corresponding Jira epic it was created from.
Unfortunately, I am also having trouble getting this to work. I have followed the available video tutorials, but they do not seem to yield the correct result for this specific requirement. In researching this further, I’ve come across what appears to be conflicting information, which makes it challenging to troubleshoot effectively.
I would be very grateful for any definitive guidance on this. Is anyone from the Monday.com team monitoring this thread who could confirm the correct procedure or perhaps advise if this is a known issue? Getting the information from the source of truth would be incredibly helpful.
It appears this was updated to support mapping to a Link column at some point and then recently support for mapping the Link to issue field from Jira to a text field stopped working. I tried to change the column type on the legacy text field into a link field, but that option isn’t available. I think I’m forced to create a brand new link column, map it to Link to issue in the integration, and then either copy and paste each of hundreds of values or export, bulk edit in excel or sheets, and then re-import them.
Why is this so hard? Why is something as simple as copy/pasting from one column to another in bulk not already in this? The whole point is that these boards are spreadsheets on steroids, but I have to export to a spreadsheet just to do a very basic task.
PS Document all of this in your documentation, please. Please please please. Spinning my wheels for hours while I try to figure out how to map a standard field into Monday.com or troubleshooting how functionality has changed and broken my flow is absolutely ridiculous and a huge waste of my time.
