If I have a task with numerous subtasks, and I mark the parent task “Done,” it would be ideal for the subtasks to all become marked “Done” as well.
Currently, if I try to create an automation When “Status” changes to “Done” Then set “…” ← I want to choose Subitem Status here, but I receive the error, “Your previous selections don’t include subitem context.”
We developed an app that solves this exact pain point of subitems inherting column value from parent. It’s called Subitem Automations and it allows to do this on subitem creation and when the parent item changes, here’s an example -
On change - In your case, “when status changes”
On creation - Populate item’s data into its subitems in a seamless way
