Basically I have a Date column and a Numbers column, and I need a bunch of other date columns to fill in based off formulas requiring the difference between the two. Currently I have this set up through formula columns, but you can’t actually use formula columns for anything like notifications.
Is there a way to auto populate an actual date column?
If the difference is always the same for the column then you can use the
Push by <# of days> action - In my example below, when an item is created (you can use whatever trigger you want), I set the date and then push it by a set number of days. You can select days / business days / weeks or months.
I tried something like that but, the problem is that the number of days the other dates are pushed back by is dependant on the “delivery time” and has to be worked backwards from the “required by” date. Each additional date is derived from that just with additional weeks subtracted. Apologies for my incredibly crude drawing but hopefully it makes my idea clearer.
Is the number of days you want to move back for each stage always the same - so in your example is Bid List Issue Date always 2 days prior to BL Due date?
If so you should still be able to use the automation I had suggested.
If the number of dates is variable (based on how many days you have between now and the Required on Site Date), then its a bit trickier.
There is an app called Advanced Formula Booster, I use it all the time for this kind of stuff. It is in the app marketplace. They have a website at mdboosters . com
