2 uses for being able to export workflows/charts:
- Allows for strong documentation and backups.
- Allows for easier building and planning.
Allows for strong documentation:
By allowing these to be exported, we can put them in programs that allow us to better notate what we did with a workflow and why we did them that way. It also allows us to have backups, so that if we make changes and want to go back to what we did we can pull up the previous export, compare it to the current export, and make the needed changes in the workflow.
Right now, we have to change it and remember what we changed and then update our separate documentation. By being able to export, our documentation can be top notch by making it easy to maintain.
This doesn’t necessarily have to be able to export to Lucid Chart or Visio, a pdf export would work as well.
Allows for easier building and planning:
I have to create my theoretical workflows in Lucid Chart because the UI of Workflows is not good. Which means I have to build out my current workflows in Lucid Chart which wastes a lot of time. If changes are made in the workflow I have to go through and make those changes and review it to ensure I didn’t miss anything. It makes changing anything in workflows a pain because I have to do so much busy work just to build a plan in Lucid Chart.
But if we could export it into Lucid Chart or Visio, I could immediately have up to date, accurate workflows that I could start planning immediately instead of doing a bunch of busy work.
