Better translation when a user sets their preferred lanuage

We are a global company with users in many different countries. It has been brought to my attention that when users select their preferred language, it only translates monday navigation - i.e. monday menus, admin section, etc. It doesn’t translate item names, group names, or column names at all. I realize some words and abbreviations will not translate to each language but it would be nice if common words were translated when possible. I’ve gotten feedback that it is confusing having to set up things like filters where the 1st two fields are translated but the 3rd is not. With all the advancements with monday AI, I am hoping we can improve the translation process when it’s possible.

Have you looked into custom translations for your specific fields?

I worked on a similar issue for a global team using a project management tool, and the lack of consistent translation made it a bit tricky for non-English speakers to navigate. We ended up using custom fields and labels for item names and group names, but it wasn’t ideal. It did help a bit, but for more complex setups, it got confusing.

One thing that worked for us was integrating localization services to handle the translations more effectively across all areas. We also added some training for users to understand the language limitations in the system. With AI advancing, I think we’ll see improvements, especially for dynamic fields like those.
