As an admin and a builder, I need a way to monitor the total number of items, including subitems and connected items, at the board level to ensure I don’t unknowingly reach plan limitations. Currently, the only available metrics—‘Advanced Usage Stats’—show the number of items created only in the past month, which doesn’t reflect the actual total number of items on a board.
I’ve tried enabling ‘Board footers’ from the monday.labs section, but it only works if there is more than one group on the board (why?). Additionally, using Formula columns to count subitems and connected items is an awkward workaround.
A built-in solution that displays the total number of items per board, including subitems and connected items, would save time and prevent last-minute adjustments when limits are unexpectedly reached.
Proposed Solution:
- Display a real-time item count for each board, including subitems and connected items.
- Integrate this information into the Board Settings or Usage Stats section.
- Ensure the number reflects the true total, rather than only newly created items, or allow toggling between the options.
Why This Matters:
- Avoids operational disruptions when limits are hit.
- Helps admins proactively manage board structures.
- Reduces the need for workarounds and manual counting.
For reference, the current item limits per plan are:
- Pro plan: 10,000 items per board.
- Enterprise plan: 100,000 items per board.
Would love to hear thoughts from the community and the monday team!
