Can I change the color of my items linked to boards in documents?

I’m trying to use a Doc to work as my working memory, so to speak. I write what I’ve worked on in the day so I can easily search for the status of projects with context since my working memory isn’t very, well… Good.

Ideally, I’d like to be able to see what tasks I’ve worked on at a glance in the context of my Doc. When I create a task/item in the Doc, it automatically gets bolded (LOVE that) and the background of the text goes grey. I want to be able to see the color of the group that item is in as the background color instead of the grey.

Is there a way to do this, or must I live with the grey bg? It’s not a make-it-or-break-it issue, just something that would make it easier when scanning the Doc so I know roughly what project goes where.

While I’m here, I’m open to any suggestions for recording work history and daily tasks. My issue is that I need to be able to see exactly what I’ve updated, when I’ve updated it, and with context at a moment’s notice. But it needs to be EXTREMELY obvious, like, I need to ONLY see items I actively updated, say, yesterday, or three days ago, etc. No other tasks, just those ones.

Changing the Background Color Based on Group: Currently, Monday.com Docs does not support dynamic background color changes based on the group of the item. The background color when an item is created in a Doc is preset and cannot be dynamically changed to match the group color of the item. You might have to manually adjust the background color or use a consistent color-coding method outside of Monday.com Docs if this is crucial.

You can try to Use Tags or Labels:

  • Implement a tagging or labeling system within the Doc to categorize tasks. For example, you could use #ProjectName tags or specific labels for task status.
