I want to be able to see all my items in order of their date/deadline in the specific column without having to to put a sorting filter every time I open/reload a board. It would save time organizing my tasks and help automate keeping them in sequential order for the whole team!

You can save a sorted or filtered board as a new view.
This way, any time you open that view, it will have your items sorted or filtered.
