Currently all items in calendar view are the same lengths in durations. This doesn’t allow for proper event and resource planning. Would it not be great if you can create tasks/events and specify the duration in minutes/hows. And the calendar-view to
Acceptance criteria:

Hi @RoseZ , you might want to consider using the MasterPlan Calendar app.
It allows you to display your items as events with start and end date and hour, featuring color-coding based on status or people column values. You can also display several columns, such as people, location, links, text, and numbers. Additionally, it lets you connect multiple boards in a dashboard widget view.
I believe it could be a perfect addition for this use case.
I understand monday is actually working on adding times to the timeline column, hopefully that’ll be here soon (this quarter or next). People have been waiting for this!
As for alternatives in terms of calendar views, there is another, free option available in the marketplace, Calendar Plus, that also supports event durations.
It’s free
Event durations for items and subitems – just drag and resize
It can display multiple dates and timelines per item
Display your team’s or customers’ public holidays to plan around them
While waiting for native support for specifying task durations in calendar view, you might find the Time in Status add-on for monday.com useful for more granular time tracking and scheduling.
With Time in Status, you can track how long tasks take with precision and view reports that break down time spent per item. It doesn’t change the calendar view durations directly, but it provides a comprehensive way to manage and analyze the time your team spends on events or tasks, helping to improve overall project planning.
With Time in Status, you can create three main types of reports:
Time in Status Report – View how long each item spends in every stage, perfect for spotting bottlenecks.
Status Count Report – Track the frequency of items in each status to better understand workload distribution.
Transition Count Report – Monitor how often items move through each stage, helping you keep tabs on progress.
Plus, the app includes several chart options to visualize your data—like pie charts, bar charts, and area charts—making it easier to track performance at a glance.
The integration is seamless on monday , so you’ll have your data displayed right on your board within seconds.
